Chinese New Year, is actually a time where people who r studying or working elsewhere goes back HOME to meet with family members, relatives and friends...
It's a brief period to share their LEARNINGS with families, and get to understand each other better...
Instead, people just like to share their EARNINGS...
CNY is more than using Angpao money to gamble...
I don't know who created this game, but it's taking up everyone's precious time and energy...
People can just play from morning til midnight...
Non-stop except during meals...
Even going to toilet was so fast... just like Touch n Go
Then the next day, they will be yawning away due to lack of sleep...
Even children of the youngest age i know - 7 yrs old are playing with adults, betting with blue and green colour rectangular notes with Agung's face on them...
What is happening to the world nowadays??
Gambling creates noises and excitement, no doubt...
But it is also developing an invisible 'evil little thingi' in the soul of every player...
They will become greedier, want to take risk, like to show-off, be more cunning... ...
This will affect their personality/character, way of thinking, and life later on unknowingly...
"Play with family members only mah..."
"Chinese New Year only play mah..."
People always says these... Yet they do not realise the negative effects it is creating...
The children will learn and play with their friends in schools, during free time as 'hobby'...
"My parents also play lah, why can't i play/gamble??"
During gambling, many foul words and actions will 'naturally' come forth, even from the person with decent looks...
Children pick up very fast...
So, who the parents want to blame for their children's actions later on?!?
During CNY, many useful things can be done.
For example, children can learn some arts and crafts from aunties or older cousins,
or learn to bake cookies/cakes,
or listen to real life stories from grandparents or uncles/aunties,
or play constructive games that are meaningful and can strengthen the bond between relatives,
or film a family video where all are actors and actresses,
or play chess, board games, IQ games,
or just merely chitchat...
To those who played a lot, sorry, this is just my point of view...
Just try to limit ourselves...
I learnt how to play 2 years ago, and felt that something is wrong with me...
Then i saw the evil side in every player... One may think that everyone is having fun, happy playing, but i felt something negative about the whole thing...
So, i stopped playing for 2 years already...
My dad also does not gamble, maybe he felt and thought of the same thing.
When others are busy 'making business', I went to help in the kitchen, watched Astro (which i don't have at home), played with the kids, played with an IQ game, read some magazines... and i think that i've used my time wisely...
Hope that there are people out there who felt the same way too... ^v^
