Travel tips

Just a few tips I've learnt from lots of flight transfer...
(Basically I've sat on 7 flights in just 5 months... 3 Airasia X, 3 Tigerairway and 1 Emirates)

#1 There are weight limit per person.
So, just double check your weight allowance, including check-in luggage and hand carry.
Generally it's only 7kg for hand carry bag, which does not include a handbag and a laptop bag.
Thus, put in some heavy but small items in your handbag or laptop bag, but also ensure that you have the strength to carry those!!!

Just to be safe, you can weigh your luggages at close counters.
Don't get it?
When you reach the airport, don't immediately go to your check-in counter.
Find a 'nobody counter' and put your luggages on the weighing scale to make sure that your luggage is within the allowed limit.
Extra til 500g (Eg, 30.5kg) should be fine.
If not, just throw away some unwanted and old stuff before you lock your luggage and check-in.

#2 Bring an empty plastic bottle.
Yeap, you can't bring in water bottles, coz liquids more than 100mL is not allowed.
So, just throw away the water inside, and bring in the water bottle.
What for??
After you enter (before boarding probably), you may find some water dispensary machine.
Fill your bottles there (when there're not people lining up to drink it), so that you don't have to buy water on plane, and get hydrated always~~
The people are just afraid that the water we bring in contains explosive chemicals, but drinking the water after the scanning custom is ok.

#3 Bring in some breads.
If you would like to save some money (the food on plane is expensive!), buy some buns or biscuits to be eaten on the plane.
You can't bring food into some countries, such as Australia.
So, finish those food on plane.
You'll surely finish them during long hauls of flight... Don't worry...

#4 Be alert.
Yeap. There would be too many people, and you don't know them.
Count your luggages always, and make sure all of them are within your sight.
Look at boards or screens to know where you are going and what time does check-in counter closes, boarding gate opens and closes, flight number etc...
There could be changes anytime, and will be announced via announcements or screens.

#5 Stretch and walk around.
After the seat belt signs are off, you can walk around a bit... Don't stay at your seat throughout the flight! (Unless your flight is less than 2 hours)
Why??
Because you may get oedema.
It's a condition where your feet becomes swollen, too much interstitial fluid, and becomes so fat that you can't wear your shoes.
Yeap, I've personally experienced it during one of the flights back home.
It takes days to recover.
So, to prevent it, just walk around, massage your legs, and keep your body active (feet especially).
Go to the back and exercise... Stretch... Nobody will laugh at you...

Erm... there are some more small small things which I think you will figure it out yourself.
So, happy holidays to you all who would be traveling overseas! ^v^

Cindy said that the colour of my dress and the colour of the ocean blended together.

How nice if I could blend & diffuse into the ocean and swim happily like a thoughtless fish.
Or rather swim 'happily'...
Coz the fishes also have worries, such as always afraid of predators & trying to hide from them... right?!?

After a tired but fun day at Dream World, Gold Coast, I still woke up at 5am in the morning just to view the sunrise by the beach...
Unfortunately, the sunrise was too early!
I was waken up by Cindy, who was also shocked that the sun rose already...

We missed the sunrise...
Haiz...
Too late, but better late than never!!!
Since we are awake, we decided to go to the beach to enjoy the morning breeze...

Surprisingly, there were some Malaysians already taking photos with their DSLRs and chattering away at the beach!
There were also some caucasians (older couples especially) jogging slowly along the beach...
Nonetheless, there were some muscular guys holding their surf boards ready to surf the beach~~~

It was rather cloudy, so we could not see the sun...
but, the sea breeze was so refreshing and rejuvenating...
Walking like a tortoise (i meant the speed) and look into the wide ocean took away all my stress & worries...
"No worries!"
I always hear this phrase in Melbbie, and it makes people feels great!

I start to miss the culture there, and am trying to introduce it to my fellow Malaysians...
"How r u goin" "Awesome!" "Cool" "No worries!" ... ...

Dear ocean, just take away all my worries, not my new pair of flipflops from Aus! ^v^

All of them welcomed me home...

The nasi lemak on plane tasted like heaven...
But, the portion seemed to be small... omg... i'm a big eater now...

Just had big pao and 'zhong4 zi3' aka chinese dumpling for breakfast... super satisfying...

Now, i have to clear my mail box, and upload photos... phew...

Return of the V

Less than a 100 hours, I'll return to my home country!!!
Bye bye Melbourne...
Bye bye Parkville...
Bye bye Swanston street...
Bye bye ***...

Hello Malaysia!
Hello Subang!!!
Hello family & friends!!!
Hello room!!!
Hello Viva!!!
Hello ***...

It's just like a dream...
A very mixed dream with lots of exciting stuff happening every second...
I've never thought that I'll apply for this intercampus exchange program...
It's a last minute decision...
So glad that I applied for it and got the offer...
I still can't believe that I'm here... in a land called Melbourne... wearing shorts and blogging... & have two lovely housemates named Huey Chyi & Shu jiun...

I've never thought that Jiun will use more mandarin than english during daily conversation with me, & watch a lot of korean dramas!
I've never thought that H7 will be my roommate, with a sometimes 'sampat' sometimes serious sometimes emo character... (don't get furious when u read this! U're unique & u know it~)
They taught me a lot of new things... I felt that I was the odd one out during the first few weeks, but later think that they are just having a similar type of taste & language background (speaks cantonese at home), so they get along together better...

Not bad not bad...
Not bad staying in a foreign country with them for 5 months...
Not a long period of time, yet we have lots of memorable memories which I will never forget in my life...

I think I'm irritating sometimes...
I don't mean it... but,
I'm a slow person... I don't understand and catch people's feelings very quickly...
When I realize it, sometimes it is just too late...
So so so sorry if I made u all feel bad...

5 of us exchanged students, each one of us is special...
I can't describe each one of us with one word or a short sentence.
We are just so funny & 'powerful' together...
hahaha...

I learnt to be more independant... really??
Nah...
I think I learnt to be more brave and humane...
I felt that I'm more outspoken now compared to 5 months ago... although still not up to a certain standard...
I felt that I have the courage to ask people questions, discover new things and explore everything around me...
Thanks to my friends, I felt more humane and contain more feelings in me...
I used to be a 'cold hearted' person that lock all my thoughts and feeling in my heart, displaying a serious face everyday... (I think)
Ever since my dad passed away, all the heart warming comments and concerned deeds from my friends made me felt that the earth is so warm although it's cold in Melb.

I've never regretted coming to Melb for this student exchange program.
Even though two of my previous blog posts were inclined towards the 'positive-ness' of Sunway campus, I'm quite used to the study life here in Parkville, and will continue to study here if somebody is kind enough to sponsor me... If and only IF... haha...

However, I also miss Sunway...
The campus, the lecturers, my classmates, the library, the bridge, the badminton sessions, trips, MUPhaS, etc etc...

Omg...
The word 'exam results' just appeared in my mind out of a sudden...
It will be out soon!

I had too much fun in Australia...
But I also studied very very hard okay~
Whole day study in State Library was an interesting part of my study week too...
(H7 & Jiun must be shaking their heads... kakaka)
How nice if there is a library like that in Subang... elegant and special...

That's all for now...
Will upload more photos when I return to M'sia in less than 4 days...
Adioz~ ^v^

Very Soon

Yesterday's top degree in Melbourne was 32, today's top degree is only 19...
Such a big difference...
This is Melbourne...
I will miss this place when I leave... very soon...

2 more exam papers to go!!!
Then I'll be heading to Sydney and Gold Coast for a real holiday...
Will be deprived of the internet for more than 2 weeks I think...

Then back to Melbourne, re-pack, and head back to Malaysia, where my home is!

Family & Friends, home cook food, my room, my car, ISGP, the JYs and children...
they are all waiting for me...
I just can't wait...

This is the longest exam for me...
Although only 4 units, but i took us for more than 3 weeks!!!

blablablbalblbalba....

I love Cake and Ice Cream... ^v^

Updates

1st thing: exam period...
The longest exam period for me...
12 days between 1st and 2nd paper...
Then 3rd and last paper is just 21 hours apart...

I can't wait to go to Sydney and Gold coast!

I want to relax, but there's piles of lecture notes waiting for me...

Anyhow, I enjoyed my life in Melbourne.

I've stayed here for 4 months exactly now!!!
One more month to go...
But half a month busy studying, half a month in Sydney and GC..
Left a few more days to pack my stuff and chao~~

Dad is at somewhere nearer to God... for 1 month already!!!
I'm wondering what is he doing up there...
Watching over us?!?
kakaka...

Time flies~
But crawls real slowly when you want it to fly~~

I should be sleeping now.
But I felt like staying up a little later...
Pimples are popping up everywhere~ and are painful!!!
Stress?
Ate too much heaty stuff??

I feel like buying myself a big piece of wonderful cheesecake and eat it slowly...
mmm...
I'll go sleep now and dream about it...

Tata! ^v^
